Joining Investors in the Environment in May 2021 kickstarted a sustainability journey for Atkin Jones that has accelerated at an exhilarating pace. Goals set at the start of the process have been left in the dust as the organisation has endeavoured to further push the business and its operations to support People, Planet and Prosperity.

Atkin Jones Limited provides safety, training and risk assessment services to the travel industry via its specialist travel safety brand Sanderson Phillips. In 2021, the business expanded to provide marketing, PR, risk management, and commercial and business consultancy services to the travel, leisure, and lifestyle industries via sister brand Atkin Jones Outsourcing.

With acknowledgment that it still has a long way to go, the business has committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050 – a daunting and sometimes overwhelming goal, but one that the Directors wholeheartedly support.

As part of a focus on sustainability as an organisation, Atkin Jones is committed to reducing its impact on the environment by being more conscious of buying habits, consumption, lifestyle choices and waste. Since achieving Green accreditation with Investors in the Environment in September 2022, Atkin Jones has expanded its business goals to further support a triple bottom line ethos and commits to continuing to set objectives against this set of standards and use them as a benchmark of progress moving forward.

Atkin Jones has invested in a wider Social Responsibility Charter which covers its charitable and community endeavours and associations and commitments to other sustainability movements. Over the past 12 months the business has become an accredited member of the Good Business Charter, as well as joining Tourism Declares a Climate Emergency and becoming a signatory of the Glasgow Declaration.
