Northwest Veterinary Specialists, formerly named Northwest Surgeons, opened in 2003 supporting referring vets, clients, and pets in the Northwest and surrounding areas including North Wales and North Wales borders. The hospital is run by an executive board under the Linnaeus group and privately owned by the family business Mars. There are 135 associates employed at NWVS.

Northwest Veterinary Specialists is a 24-hour veterinary multi-disciplinary referral hospital with specialist led teams in, Neurology, orthopaedics, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, diagnostic imaging, physiotherapy, anaesthesia, and oncology.
