iiE grows further in the NE of England through new partnership to green the local economy

iiE (Investors in the Environment) are pleased to announce their partnership with genee, an environmental sustainability consultancy intent on Greening the Economy of North East England (genee). The partnership will bring together genee’s expert sustainability knowledge and the iiE accreditation scheme, which helps businesses save time, money, and improve their impact on the planet.

The exciting partnership demonstrates the fast expansion of the iiE accreditation scheme nationally. genee has a proven record of delivering expert sustainability support to businesses in the region. Jo Holmes, Managing Director of genee, has been brought on as the Regional Lead of iiE North East. Jo Holmes has worked in the North East Environment Sector for over 20 years, runs the North East Recycling Forum and sits on the NEECCo Steering Group and Executive Group.

“iiE’s mission is to drive sustainability within businesses through a framework that is simple to follow,” explains April Sotomayor, iiE General Manager, “With more businesses working towards net-zero targets, partnering with genee, and utilising their experience in the North East, is a fantastic addition to the iiE community”.

iiE is an accessible and proven route to help organisations get started on their sustainability journey and make a real impact. It has been running for over 12 years, and in that time has helped hundreds of organisations from all sectors and sizes to improve their environmental performance. The scheme is owned and managed by PECT, a sustainability charity based in Peterborough.
